Walking through the woods looking for a plane, a few a friend of mine spotted another one in a tree about 50 feet up. Huge Cap 232. Any one know of a anything that I can use to get the plane down without spending alot? I cant cut it down. It is nestled in the branches pretty well. And it is in the middle of the woods.

A skilled pilot without flight discipline is a walking time bomb.

My club flies at a polo field surrounded by trees. There's a guy we call whenever a plane is stuck too high to retrieve easily.

He has the full gear for climbing, he goes up and brings the plane down gently. He charges around $20 or so to get a plane.

You might check with tree surgeons or landscapers who work on trees in your area to see how much they'd want to go up and retrieve the plane... you might be surprised at how little they ask for a simple climb and grab job.

HAHA I hate when those stupid planks get stuck in trees. Last winter I was flying my SPAD at the cabin and flew it into a tree about 50-60 feet up. Well we threw 2x4's, pvp pipe, rocks, chunks of ice, waterbottle, friends boot (he wasn't thrilled), and about everythign else we could find at it. Funny thing is the people that owned the place just sat inside and laughed the whole time (I checked with them before we started throwing). It took a good four hours but it was pretty dang fun. Something ended up getting stuck through the wing then we got a rope around it somehow. Of course the stupid thing flew just fine as soon as it came down.
