There upgraded stock design motors are a hell of alot better than the first ones. They now come with a fan on the bottom. It looks more like a prop on a boat but it works great. The engine stays cool even when hovering around. I am also getting 11 min flights with my 1320's.

With a fan on it ? Does it also have ball bearings ?

My poor zoom, with stock motor, St Model Li-Ion 11.1 v 1200 mah battery (http://www.stmodel.com), Jeti 350 controller, cannot fly at all

It can just lift up the ground for 1 inch then decend. Seem it uplift 1 inch just by using the residual rpm when pasting through the zero pitch at the middle point of throttle stick on the Tx.

The battery went of out power very quickly. I have used a second brand new motor to test to have the same result.

Can any friend help to give me some tips

hmm, thats strange. thats exactly what my old motor was doing when it went bad but you said you tried it with a new motor and same problem. Make sure your battery pack is good. Im using 1320 so its not much different from yours. you could check to make sure you dont have any rubbing that is causing the motor to slow like with the pinion on the tail hitting the output gear. make sure your speed control is set up correctly. i wish i could upload a picture of my motor but RR only lets me on mondays for some reason.

Thank you very much

Besides adding grease on the main gear and tail gear, I will tonight try to increase the gap between the motor gear, the white big gear and the tail shaft gear. Hope that it was the source of problem.

Thank.

hi pinoy_zoom
I charged the battery twice last night. This morning, I tried again. It still cannot left the ground more than 2 inches for more than 2 seconds.
The battery was very hot. Same to the motor.
My charger is "Prolux Li-Po DC1-3 Cell Li-Po Microprocessor Charger No.3834" with Aplex 11 volt switching Power supply. Prolux is with internal inverter so that it should be able to step up the volts to charge 11.1 volts battery

Is my Battery charger ok ?
Pitch should be enough. In fact, the max pitch on my zap can be more than +7 degrees as I elongated the rectangular hole on the main shaft.
For 100 % throttle, I did try the pitch from about 0 degree upto more than + 7 degrees. For more than 7 degrees, I noted that rotor rpm decrease sharply.

The Zap is new, the Battery is new, the Motor (2nd one) is new, Charger is new. It is the Jeti 350 problem ? I set it wrongly. Seems nothing need to be set on the Jeti 350 ! However, from the test fly (in fact, like a little bird jumping on the ground), it seems that it has no power or torque from the brand new motor when pitch more than 0 degree.

You and me are in Hong Kong. May be I can bring my Zap to meet you at some place to share your valuable experience.

Thanks.

Hi pinoy_zoom
As read from the forum, I am now running in the new brush motor under water.

What charge is you now using for the ST Li Ion 2200 mah battery?
Can I made two ST Li Ion 1200 battery in parallel instead of getting 2200 mah ?
