Unlike the OS the YS has three seperate fuel delivery holes in the barrel for the IDLE,MID,and MAIN needle settings
I was wondering, while I was looking on the carb barrel, that it could be possible to tune the engine performance by playing with the excavations on the carb barrel. Do u do know whether anyone do the thing like this with YS?

Garry.

I would not change the slots on the barrel, they changed the barrel on the 80 when it first came out and it had a rich spot that could not be tuned out. they ended up replacing it with the barrel from the 61.
The 80 and 91 dont seem to have any tuning problems that i have heard of. The OS 91 has problems that are cured by changing the cateye on the barrel to richen it up at part throttle. Some of the OS 50 suffered from this problem too,and a cateye mod was created to fix it. DOUG

Have a look at these pic, that's the way my high needle barrel slot looks.

I don't know maybe it is O.K., but I persume it should be like this.

Am I right???

>Opinions are like backsides, everyone has one, no need to hear it and >only others stink!

Well then show me a bar code with ST 4 on it,OR one with ST 3 ,then i'll admit i'm wrong in a new thread called DOUG was wrong.

I never said ST4, I said 2 versions.. ST? and STR

I said the box just has ST as opposed to ST2 on the YS61...

I dont look at every barcode in existence...
there is 1 version of the 91 the 91 ST.
You were wrong, now go make that thread
called DOUG was wrong.
<---- note the humour, you seem to have missed it in my previous posts...

YS91ST and STR, same engine accept for wrist pin (probably they changed to the newer version in the ST version also).
The STR comes with a remote needle, different needle, not only the arm on it that differs.
The STR comes with a red colored head, though it has the same part no as the std. black colored head.
The STR I had in my hands (ordered it for my friend) had a white lable on it, with ST-R written on it by hand.

They may call it ST4 or whatever in the US, but it´s the same engine as the one being sold as YS91ST in the rest of the world.

And also since its a Japan produced engine I would bet that the Japan website is the one that should be considered reliable.

'Hm now I just have to find out where to connect the GV1 sensor to the Jazz80 ESC.

maybe the riddle is solved
the reason ther is a YS 91 ST4 is because this is the only way YS performance can control "gray " market engines from coming back to them from repair

quote from their site
YS .91 Heli engine purchased from outside sources and not bearing a cartouche which we apply here, will not be warranted by our service dept.
