Alpine I haven't sense the quality because I haven't been able to burn the 3rd tank , but I don't give up that easily. I LIKE the machine, I've never said I did not like it. My Raptor flys very well, but the evo in hover... is the first time I let go the sticks and the heli stay there in front of my eyes!...I just need to TAME the MARACA!!!...What I can't figure out is the RUMBA! shakes!, The machine is fixed already...NEW never crashed I'm waiting for the new metal part for the head, (the plastic one cracked while pulling it out of the shaft!. (funny ah...it was supposed to be stronger plastic!)

Also since I was told that it could be the fan, I also bought a new aluminum fan and install it, will see next weekend. I hope this would be better. Upon removing the plastic fan I noticed that when I place it flat against the metal one back to back, the plastic one was warped!!! This is LOW quality control in production. Does not have to do with the heli being good or bad.

You can buy a Good Buick and I can buy a Lemon Buick!, I hope with the changes of the washout (which was upgraded in the EVO since the screws were comming out and BAM!! on the original model) and the other metal parts the EVO will ROCK!!

You know, shakes or vibes in a heli are not difficult to track down and fix if you're a competent builder and have been around helis for awhile. Balancing rotating machinery is not rocket science.

It appears that maybe you should stick to the Raptor and sell your EVO to someone who can tame it.

That way you would be happy, and there would be no reason to keep posting flames about your particular EVO experience, and about the horrible expense or poor quality control at Hirobo. And you would avoid all the negative comments back.

Frankly, having built and flown about every mainstream heli since the introduction of the DuBro Whirlybird 505 in the 1970's -- I think I can safely say the the quality and flying capabilities of both the EVO and Freya are second to none.

Hirobo has been manufacturing helicopters for many many years. If their quality control and flying characteristics were consistently as poor as you claim, they wouldn't be in business today. Nor would they be one of the most popular and successful helis today.

The EVO quickly has become my most favorite heli of all time. It builds quickly and accurately, and flies superbly.

WOW hmmm I thought I was going to get some help here...
If their quality control and flying characteristics were consistently as poor as you claim, they wouldn't be in business today.
instead of try this..adjust that! is sell the evo...stick to your Craptor

On the contrary...I stated in my comment that it Hovers better than the Raptor! read again..that I let go the sticks...

Guys this is mass production... I bought a Raptor fan and it was damage from the factory it did not fit even the engine shaft..and that is Poor quality control from Thunder Tiger... I don't get blind with brands....

I'm not here for the Raptor is better or Evo is better fight, I'm here to try to make this machine flys the way you guys say it does.. probably is my name that is upsetting you

BTW I get help out of RR, from a guy that owns some Freyas and Evos and I was told that the skids and so soft..(I can't say crap because people will get upset...his words!!) no rigid at all and the engine is new, and is tranfering the vibration to the heli...this is why the machine is shaking...so much...guess what....

I just remove the EVO skids...install a new set of...yes!... you guess it right! Raptor skids!! they are wider and stronger..and the little tame EVO kitten has a wider footprint and is ready to fly as soon as I change the part that I'm waiting for on Tuesday. BTW it looks a lot better now

Now don't you start installing Raptor skids on your EVO's hahahaha!!

Thanks for your support...
.

Nahhhh, Freya low riders look way better than craptor gear. It's all about style! If you wanted bullet proof, you shoulda strapped on some Min Air Tuff Struts.

Sure the Evo is one great flying 50 sized heli but i've just about had it with the price of spares.

To me the whole point of a 50 is to have fun and be able to repair any little dings without spending a whole load of money. Hirobo really do take the pi#s in this department, at least on this side of the pond.

As much as I like my Evo, think I will be ditching it in favour of a rappy 50.

Thank you!! that was exactly my point!!.. Before all the EVONAUTS jump all over me!! if the clutch bell and the clutch are over $100.00 then do the MATH How much is the rest of the whole heli..$150.00 175.00? parts are too expensive for what they are... but then the fan is $4.95!! just doesn't make sense..

Evonauts

Hmmm,

Maybe us Evonauts know where to shop! I totaled up around $81.52, but hey who's counting.

I've never gone through a liner and my one sceadu is 3 years old. I had done that route in my rappy v1 many times, but never my sceadu.

The common crash parts are pretty close in price, I'm sure if you do a search, you can find the crash cost comparison on here. I can't comment on the European market as far as costs.

OK, I'll stop being a wise ass now, were only busting your chops...

If things are cracking and splitting on you, call MRC and get in touch with Jeff Green. I'm sure if there are truly defective parts, he'll make it right.

He's personally offered me assistance on my stuff. All the stuff you read about him on here is really true. When you bought that Sceadu, you bought a lot more than a plastic fantastic. You bought into a truly great support network via Jeff/MRC.

That's the real difference between the Raptor and Sceadu.

Give him a call and explain to him what's going on, he'll get to the bottom of it and have you going in no time.

Had a small ding with my raptor 90 last weekend after an engine flame out whilst at knife edge

Had a fair amount of damage and needed quite a few new parts. Similar crash with an evo has cost me just under a £100 in the past. The 90 repair bill came to £60.

Enough said.

Last time I hot started one of my Hirobo's, it cost me about $3.00. Clutch liner, period. And yes, it was chewed down to metal, not just thin . . .

BTW the TDG head was ok...Heliproz send it back to me...The TDG people think you are a genius, they don't include any instructions with the package.. they "Think" you are going to figure it out.

The issue is that when installing you just add the thrust bearings..there is a pair of radials that you TOSS away!! the external ones.
