Hi,

I have the WREN powered Predator, like the one on Centurys website.
I have been involved in the testing and development of the machine.

Originally the machine I have is the prototype, right this minute WREN are replacing all the turbine and gearbox components for production run items as they are now available to buy.
The reasoning for this is so any future testing and demo's I fly with the model will be 'as-is' out of the box.

Best option is to give WREN Uk a buzz via email and see what they can do for you, tell them I sent you.

Read some more about it here :

P.S. You are correct, it is a truly amazing machine and an awesome experience to fly!

Gladerman,

did you have many problems with your jetcat?? I have an HP5 and I have to say the turbine has been great. I am strugeling with the clutch setup. I have lost power on the transmition twice with the turbine going at full power so by the time you realize you are autorotation it is pretty late! I came down twice right over the runway. First time I had to send the turbine back and they replaced the bearings and now the second time there is no damage on the turbine. Amazingley the only damage on the helicopter are the skids and one tank! I am taking everything apart right now and I am looking into finding the problem! these two events take a lot of the confidence away thats for sure! If its that expensive I want something reliable! I sent the whole jetcopter back and on the first flight after the crash the same thing happend again! unbelivable...

Jack,
I honestly believe you are correct in your assessment, however I think things in the turbine world are going to move very quickly over the next year or so, both in the technology and price world. I also think that the "few" exclusive brands are going to be challenged by new and better products offering quantum leaps in capability....it's called competition....and, some are going to survive, and, unfortunately or fortunately some are not. Those who are willing to change, adapt and overcome will be at the top of the heap...those who are not willing will go by the wayside and, rightfully so.

Predator Turbine

Hi Alex
Your enquiry about Predator turbine...

The turbine heli at http://www.rcturbinehelicopters.com carries a number of upgrades to deal with some Predator problems... including a precision tail pitch slider and CNC machined swashplate. With a stiffer base frame and carbon stacked frames it is amean flyer.

There are also a few tips on building a Predator to remove some of the glitches that we have found... http://www.HoverWorld.com

Three production TT Predator turbines have so far been produced... also including 8mm tail boom supports and metal boom clamp, longer tail boom and twin bearings to support the tail drive, along with a few other necessary changes.

It is a good budget turbine package, and like the Predator90, from which it was developed, is a great flyer.

Hope that answers questions from our developments...
