I've read about a lot of people having problems with the one-way clutch. I don't know how to diagnose this problem, however.

Took my Rap 60 up today (because I crashed the 50 last weekend ) and noticed that the engine rpm won't come down once I hit throttle hold. At first I thought that it was too lean but I made it richer to the point of tail kicking in hover. As I said, when I hit throttle hold, the engine rpm doesn't drop but slowly decreases in concert with the rotor rpm until at some point the "real" clutch seems to disengage. At that point, the engine dies instantaneously - because it has been forced to run way too high for that small throttle, I figure.

Is this the symptom of a failed one-way clutch?

It sounds like the one way bearing is just "stuck". Hold the head carefully and turn the gear. I think looking from the top it should spin CCW freely. If it doesn't spin freely then it's stuck. To free mine, I hold the head by the blade grip and carefully apply just enough CCW twist on the gear to break it free. Once mine starts sticking, I have to take the gear out to clean & oil the one way bearing. Then it's good to go for a bunch of flights again.
It has been many, many gallons since mine stuck but I'm pretty sure I was causing it to happen when I first started flying my Raptor. Once I figured out how to tune the engine the sticking gear problem went away.

Actually the grey gear can be turned CCW. I reset the carb settings today and tried to find a usable condition and it got much better. Seems to have been caused by that.
