Maybe they found a way to charge the batteries in flight like an alternator on a vehicle.

I really need a Tag M65 under the tree this year

Lets say it consumes 1.1 lt/hour.... to travel 800kms..flying at say 60km/h ..that is minimum 13.3kilograms of fuel...

Well...maybe what they forgot to clarify in the specifications list was that this UAV can travel 500 miles being in the trunk of a car.

What is the specific use of this UAV ? I work in the UAV field and the range /payload is very limited on this heli. Also if this heli i rated to 13,000 I wonder what the video looks from that altitude. From what I have seen you need bigger optics and CCD's to get useable video at that altitude. Guess it could be used for close in Recon of cities or ? Very interesting though !

I asume that it consumes 1.1lts at "cruise" speed say 60kmh. Sounds 100kmh is way too much...cant believe 1.1lts per hour at full throttle...

Looks like it is being used for military use and possible border patrols. UAV can stay in the air 5 - 8 hours so it flies a programmed waypoint path and the real time video is viewed on the ground station. I see they have one that weighs 1200 lbs as well, completely Radio controlled.

how muych fuel?

If you make a simple calculation, 8 hours at 1.1liters per hour gives you 8.8 liters which it is 2.3 gallons of fuel.

Lock-tite: Does that answer your question?

On the other hand, who flies at another throttle setting other than close to full throttle? 1.1 liters per hour sounds to me like the consuption rate for 80% to 90% power for a helicopter, Do not confuse this setting with power for an airplane. On a helicopter you need to keep the power on a certain rpm to maintan rotor RPM. we all know this.

Gaucho volador:

Why are you trying to correlate fuel comsuption to speed? on helicopters that is not possible. helicopters consume ABOUT the same amount of fuel standing still or moving forward, backwards or sideways.
