probably.

No reason it shouldn't

but you won't be able to charge big battery packs.

What do you mean by large packs, I only have a 1500ma NICd and my transmitter battery is 9.6V 600ma. is this not enough

I succeeded to charge/discharge my batteries (7.2V 1700ma, 4.8V 1100ma and 9.6V 600mA, All NiCD) with 12V 5A AC-DC convertor.
It probablt true if you are charging batteries with a big capacity. What is a big capacity is a good question.

Do not charge the 12V, 5A battery with the inputs Triton connected to the battery.

Gary,

The 12V AC-DC covertor is just act as external power source.
Did you meant not to charge the field battery 12v/7A with that source?
