For the cyclists here.

Did a cycling event on the weekend with the Mastcam Rig
"Around the Bay in a Day" run by Bicycle Victoria.
210km ride around Port Phillip Bay in Victoria, Aus.

A few pics from it here.

Great Work!

I really like the detail/perspective in image103.jpg on your gallery.

How long does it take you to get a shot from the time you put it in park to when you fire the shutter?

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks Jeff

Nice Spring day for it, lighting was on the hard side...

The 103 shot I wanted an example of the full size detail for riders (I assume they'd be keen on the shots including them.)

Setup
Down to about 10 to 15 mins to taking snaps.
Took a bit long in the begining at about 30 mins to setup.

Modified the mast so no ropes under 15 knot wind.
Pulled the seats out of the Mastwagen and have the "ground gear" setup ready to go setup with laptop to save card to.
Just park, level up with the feet, shove on the cam mount and plug in the air hose. 2mins to raise to full height.

Cheers

Twilight

MPA,

Haven't you done some twilight shots with that mast?

Can you send me a link to some examples and maybe a shot of your mast?

Did you manufacture the mast yourself ? I Have been looking at some masts for sale in the States here but they are $12,000.00 and up.
Do you find you you use the mast more than the heli for real estate shots ?

Thanks
Watch your color saturation.
Yeah got a bit carried away with all the colors off those riders.
Im generally a bit heavy handed on my web pics, save the hard yards for print shots..
Did you manufacture the mast yourself ?
Yes I did.

Wasn't about the shell out for a Clark Mast, to be honest I dont think they are all that great for the price.

I do have plans for my mast but I wont be posting them up sorry.
I do have intentions of building and selling mast systems in future and have designed a few other versions for particular applications I intend to approach with prototypes to try to get govt tenders.
Do you find you you use the mast more than the heli for real estate shots ?
I would imagine so, but I dont do work for Real estate agents, the ones here in Aus are all true scum, they ALL say "We take the pics ourselves and the vendors dont complain", meaning, they dont pay for shots no matter what.
At best some pay $40 a shot and they want interiors included in that.
They can all kiss my freckle.

There are other places here to sell pics, there is not a lot of commisioned work in Aus so the mast is handy to go hunting for pics wherever I can fit the thing, then sell pics later as stock..
City skylines, notable locations etc..

Cheers
