It served Its Purpose.....

Listen Dudes!, I put over 196 flights on my Raptor using the Co-Pilot!, dont get me wrong, it is a wonderful device!, I just got sloppy in MY failure to calibrate, I have done this many many times when the weather was the same as the previous day., It was the cloud cover that moved in, that caused it to go into calibration mode, While in flight that caused the crash, It was my fault!!, I was getting too dependant on this device anyway, so I guess it served its purpose, When I took it off, I had to learn to fly, all over again!, Just dont become too reliant on it, and you will do fine..........Joe

Why would anyone need a copilot...
One reason is for airial photography...hovering at 200 feet shooting stills or video.

No matter what everybody says I think co-pilot is a very nice aid subject you are not depended on it.

I think Rosa said the most wise think till now "this product is not FOOL safe" ans that says it all. The CP and the sim helped me move to inverted FF, backward flight and now to inverted backward. Especially in backward flight that I was always giving more cyclic that was needed the CP helped me bail out many times.

I think most of the people that are against the CP have it always on. This is wrong. You are dependend on the CP and the feeling of the heli is strange. Once again use it as bail out device ONLY. It's not a gyro to be on all the time.

I fully agreed "Practise made Perfect!"

I alway feel that practising in simulator is so much different from on the real field.

So with this co-pilot give me some asureance that when I need a bail out switch on the co-pilot, once the heli is back in control switch off the co-pilot and continue practise on the move. Without co-pilot I would have given up this hobby long time ago with two reasons
1. No more money to buy spares;
2. Loss confident and will be shy away....

I hear what your sayingm, but it is also designed to act as a fail safe and recover the heli to a hover, as the packaging and limited documentation states. Given that one of the faults that we had was that the range suddendly fell to about 10 metres with the heli at about 15m, if it was not turned on the heli would have dropped out the sky like a brick!!

As with all these things there are those that are for them and those that think there a waist of a PCB. I think it will be a great device, if only we could get it to callaborate.

With a PCM receiver or the FS8 receiver you can configure the Co-Pilot to turn on when Failsafe is activated. I have all my Failsafes configured to set my pitch to 0 degrees, throttle to idle, and Co-Pilot on.
