Hello,
I have a Novak Super Rooster http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...?&I=LXBJ62&P=ML and some Reedy Stock motors http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...?&I=LXZS60&P=ML left over from some RC car stuff. Do you think this gear would work well on a Corona Heli? Im thinking that the stock motors wont be powerful enough as they are the equivalent of a 20-22 turn modified motor. But do you think the super rooster would be to heavy and big and also would the brake and reverse be an issue? The reverse can be disabled so its just a forward only ESC? And also does the corona run best on 7 or 8 cells? And if 8 will I have to upgrade the landing struts to accomidate the extra cell? Thanks for any help.

will wash your heli for a quarter

You're probably not going to have much luck with that stuff. Some people use a 17T motor on 8-cells and seem to like it but the best brushed motors I've used were 13-15 turn mod motors. My favorite was a 15T/S mod motor. Long since, I've upgraded to brushless and can't imagine ever going back.

The weight and size of an RC car ESC will be detrimental and any kind of ESC braking will not be compatible with heli flight as braking can only be associated with crashing...

As for the number of cells, that will depend on you motor. I prefer 7-cell packs because they're lighter and a good match to my brushless motor.
