I am in need of a answer as to how much pitch is needed for a venture 30 to fly well? I have helped a friend out with his venture and set it up with the same pitch I have on my Raptor 30 +9 -9 degrees pitch and it takes almost full stick to hover. I am just wondering what you guys are running on pitch curve for good 3 D flight. I currently have it set up with +10 -10 and it is a bit lagging on the engine department now. He has a Webra 35 on it and using 15% nitro with stock wood blades. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My venture was setup for -11.5/+11.5 and it did pretty good without much bogging down. I was running fibreglass blades, and it climbed pretty darn well.

Cheers,

Tom

Funny thing, I actually had to lower the headspeed when I switched from Woodies, a world of difference.

Cheers,

He is still in the learning process so he might want to keep cost down and use the woodies for now but I am sure he will go carbon when he feels comfortable enough to use em

I am still hunting for the sweet spot for the Webra. They are new to me all I have owned is Thunder Tiger engines. We have the head speed set around 1750 or so. It seems to be running good but it doesn't have any climbout at all.

amainmaker, you will be searching for that "sweet spot" for a while. i tried countless mixture and pitch settings to get that webra35 to conduct a good climb out. finally switched to tt39 and had no problems with power or mixture control on both my 39&50 engines. the webra will run ok for learning, but when he starts to push the envelope he may want to change engines or add a pipe for power.

I kinda figured that was some of the problem. Since I fly my Raptor with a 39 his webra seemed a bit under powered. It flys fine in foward flight but any power moves are out of the question, What pitch range are you running on your Venture? He is gonna be at the Bremen fun fly with me so maybe you can give him some pointers with it. I got him a good ball park but I am not to familiar with the JR line at all.

You got any other heli buds coming to the fun fly??
I think there will be about 4 or so guys there not counting yourself who fly helis so it oughta be a good show for them considering not many of them have seen a heli do what a heli can do.

amainmaker, im still planning to come to the event this weekend. dont know if i will be alone or if someone is going with me. none of my friends fly helis, so i fly solo. im running approx. 10.5+-10.5 pitch on both my 39&50 machines using nhp razors 550&600 respectively.
