Can I ask.... Are there any Millennium 3 users who are giving thier machines strong aileron 3d, which are not taking clutch shoes out in flight??
Are there any pilots with the new clutch pinion block from Rcmarket that are giving their mill 2 or 3 or dyna x, serious 3d abuse, and NOT taking out clutch shoes??

Why might I be taking heavy duty clutch shoes out in two machines, almost each flight, unless I fly them like girl?

Surley this might ring a few bells with someone with a similar concern?>

We are flying here a few Milly 2, a few Dyna-X and a new Milly 3.
Some of them are with the original clutch pinion block and some of them with the new clutch pinion block from Rcmarket, some of the machines are flying with serious 3D abuse.
The only clutch that was broken was my own but it was after 6 years of flying!

What machine are you flying?
Which clutch bell are you using, Is it Robbe original or the one from Rcmarket?
Did you check the space between the shoes and the lining?
Does your engine align properly?

Hi there..

Your positive replies give me the confidence to fight on to find the problem..
My machines are.
Mill 3 pro with kit 16th pinion in new double bearing support.
Clutch bell is also the new one in the kit and is not worn at all.. Has only had a little flying.

I align very careful and clearance of liner is as out of the box from Robbe..

My Millenium 2 is now a Dyna x. the clutch pinion unit is of Rcmarket.
this has had very little use and the alignment has had good care to get right.

I will be looking at the liner and making it very close.
also I shall review alignments with feeler gauges and dial gauges.

Very odd how I can fly and fly these machines and not have a problem. AS LONG as I do nothing with Aileron!.
Soon as I metronome on the Aileron, I KNOW the clutch will go instantly.. no question.
On time I flew it three times.. I then said to a friend., "are you ready I shall take a clutch shoe out in 20 seconds"..
He looked at me gone out.. I then flipped off the floor and went off inverted backwards and did lots of Aileron metonoming down the field.
turned and landed.. CLutch gone"..
laughable,, but I was not laughing..

thanks for you thoughts... I will fight on.

Simon,

Go back to the "old" style millie2 type pinion, it may solve your problem.

I'm flying with Milli3 (read my e.mail).

3D setup, light original paddles (no lead inside), and more sensibile flybar ratio configuration.

Ratio 1:7.5 and 1870 rpm, Os91 C-Spec and CP30.

No problem with hard Aileron ..

ramster.

I might just try the old single bearing supported pinion if I can not figure this out.
What does my head in is that I am told by other pilots that they give their Millennium3s and 2's with converted pinion etc, so much aileron abuse and no problems..

It has to be alignment of clutch bell, or fan, hub and clutch shoes.

Or clearance of liner.

Lots for me to work on now.. Felt a bit alone with it.. just post on here and the world comes to mi rescue.. cheers lads.
