Instead of replacement blades and skids, you're talking replacement pilots. No thanx!

YIKES!!

The first thing folks should know about this Copter is: It is ancient!

You would be hard pressed to find any parts for it and I doubt there are any flying in the world anymore! I could be wrong.

The Scorpion copter eventually evolved into the Rotorway Exec that is in production in Arizona today.

Anyone who buys this thing will not qualify for an experimental certificate and have to have the entire machine checked by an authorized A&P mechanic and then have it certified for flight by the FAA. $8800 is the current bid, but you will spend probably another 5 to 10 thousand (possibly more) getting this thing airworthy. Any parts that might be needed including an engine will have to be manufactured, unless you can find someone on the net that has an old scorpion in the box someplace.

No mention is made of how much time the Airframe has on it or how much time is on the engine. These are very critcal items.

Even the Rotorway Exec have an Airframe time, that I believe you have to replace the entire welded airframe every 1600 hours. Now, that is alot of flying time, but it also an expensive maintenance fix.

The first question I'd ask this guy is: When was it last flown and for how long?

What I see here is a nice Museum Piece, certainly not anything to put in the air, unless you are out in the middle of Nebraska someplace, where no one will here the explosion!

Just my 3 cents worth!

But just think about it, some nice big servos and a little tinkering and you have a "large" Gasser

And you'd probably want to wear something a little more substantial than a hard hat...a bunker perhaps?
