Here's the deal, Shogun, Himaxx brushless, GY401, HS55 on the tail.

When in a hover, it spins left and right no problem. Tail feels very strong. In forward flight it turns to the right perfectly, but when I bank it in for a left turn it feels like the tail is hesitating then all of a sudden it kicks hard left to nose in. Almost like something is slipping. I thought it may be the servo so I replaced that and also tried another gyro. First it had a GY240 then I tried a 401, same results. Checked everything and nothing is slipping in the drive train. It only does it turning left.

Any thoughts?

Can it be that something is binding in the pitch slider/servo setup when the servo tries to give a left input?

I don't think so, I can't see any binding. I think I may have a pinion on the motor slipping. I'm using a dual pinion setup and I noticed they were out of alignment although I don't know why it would only slip when I was turning left. That should put the least strain on the power train. I put on two new pinions and used green loctite and still they started slipping again Wish I could find a single tall 8 or 9 tooth pinion. I'm about ready to go back to the stock brushed motor. At least the pinion stayed on.
