Hello all, I know this might be a wacked out question. I would like to know, if there are any books other than the users manual for the 9CHP? Something along the lines of, 9CHP programing for dummies. Something, that would break it down shotgun style for my sloooow learning curve.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Don't like the book

I don't like the user manual, nor do I really like any user manuals. Its funny how often I find out what stuff does by accident. If you have any specific questions, maybe I can help.

Little subtleties like the face that in ccmp mode (my hornet), changing STRM on channels 1,2,6 changes the individual servo, but END point changes the actual function, ie aileron, elevator. Kind of weird, you would think that END point would also change the endpoint of that particular servo, not he endpoint of the mixed function. Guess and check works for me.

Seaknight1962,

There seems to be a book about the Futaba 9C coming out. In the June 2004 issue of Model Helicopter World there is an add saying:

"coming soon... NEW BOOK!
Futaba 9C The User's Guide by AnnMarie Cross

THE AUTHOR:
AnnMarie Cross - former Senior Manager of the Futaba USA service and support facility, author of the US manual for the 9C and renowned Futaba radio programming expert.

THE BOOK:
Whether a brand new pilot, a first-time computer radio owner, or a world level aerobatics pilot looking to get the most out of this incredibly flexible radio, this book is for you.

Containing:
* Technical data
* Diagrams & Illustrations
* Basic layouts and set ups explained
* Functions - how they work and how to make them work for you"

You may order by calling:
- UK: 01684 588599
- US: 217 762 9099
- AUS: (02) 9520 0933
- OTHER: +44(0)1684 588599

I am not associated with the publisher or the author in any way! My first reaction when I saw the add was "why didn't she do the manual right in the first place..." as I don't particularly find the manual that good either.

amen

"why didn't she do the manual right in the first place..."
Amen to that. Pretty soon we are going to be seeing "Manual sold seperately"

Make it idiot-proof, and someone will make a better idiot

Well, she may not have been in charge of how the original manual was produced. I have chatted back and forth with her a few times through email regarding my 9C. She is a genius with the 9C.

If u actually read the manual u would see that it is very well written, and wouldnt have to buy the new 9C for dummies book.

Yes it may not have color pictures or Doctor Suess, but it is very good...
