I'm converting my 30v2 to a 50v2 and I have run into a snag.
The new drive pinion (10 tooth) has too small of a I.D. to fit on the starter shaft? Do I need another shaft slightly smaller?

The size difference is rather significant, and I don't think I can just force it on.

Thanks,

Brian

never heard of that one, would take the parts to a hobby store and compare against parts, maybe a V1 part?

or maybe it is incorrectly machined. My 50V2 conversion went well so there must be something wrong. Too bad. Any photos or measurements?

I got the 10 tooth v2 drive pinion from heliproz today. It is exactly like the one I have already and it doesn't fit either!!!

How is is possible that I get TWO faulty pinions in a row and no one else gets any?

I know that it has to be the pinion because I have two v2 shafts and the pinion doesn't fit on any of them???

What is going on?

Should I chance ruining it and use a drill press to try and enlarge the hole?

Thanks,

Brian

Chances are it's a V1 vs V2 issue. Do you have a 30 V1 or a 30 V2?

You need the correct conversion kit.

you could have put a slight burr on the starter shaft making it hard to fit into pinion.

I dont think you will be able to drill it out its made of mega hard metal.

I just talked to heliproz about the issue and they screwed up. They acidentially sent me a v1 pinion instead of a v2. They are shipping me a v2 pinion free of charge for the inconvienence.

Thanks for all the help,

Brian
