Hi,

I received a hb2 about a month ago, put her together and managed to get two seperate 4 minute flights before the tail motor failed. Managed a half way decent piro landing from about 10 ft but it did tip over doing a little bit of damage (spindle, blades, links, etc). By the way I did land half way in the flights and check both motor temps, tail motor was cool to the touch and the main motor was warm.

Called century a talked to them, gave me an rma number and stated normally they dont replace broken parts due to a failure which I explained I normally expect something like the tail motor to last longer than 8 minutes in two different flgihts. Parts sent off.

Received a package back today with my broken parts and a letter explaining how I "overheated the motor and softened the brushes and holder, this overheating is caused by running the motor at a hi rate of speed for a long period of time." Richard is the letter writer.

I am a bit confused, according to the letter it is my fault for overspeeding the motor but they are willing to replace it but not the other parts. If its my fault then why would you replace the motor? Just does'nt make a lot of sense to me

Buyer beware, this is centuries / heli-world's customer service. It was there product and I followed there directions, a part failed and according to them its my fault.

Can't wait to meet all of you up at ircha this year

if it's cool to the touch, i dono if i'd call that overheating.... did you tell them that? just curious, what esc and battery are you using? my tail motor fried (with heat) after not much more time on it than that.... mostly time testing and working out other bugs in the heli.

My first heli with a lightning radio went up 40 feet and crashed with lots of damage due to a defective lightning radio. First flight it took off by itself. They admitted that the radio was bad, but wouldn't replace any parts saying I hadn't checked out the heli before my first flight. I did check it out. They sent another radio which was also defective. No replacement of any parts. Same problem you have. It's always your fault not theirs. Great for public relations on their part huh!!!

Hey Helichomper,

You're not alone. I bought the Jetranger package with the Lightening radio. That radio was COMPLETE JUNK!

Instead of fooling around with another replacement junk Lightening radio... I just bought a hitec laser 4.

You know.... I really like the products Century sells-- i.e. Hawk Sport, Hummingbird, thier Scale Models.... but you have to seriously wonder... what the he*l are these people thinking?

I was ripped off... It will never happen again though.

I am converting my Hummingbird to separates.

But I am not sure I will ever buy anything from Century agian.

And I dealt with Richard at Centrury too when it came to the problems I was having with my tail motor.... he was joke. He actually told me to try "bending the tail blades to improve their pitch." Pitch??? The problem was thier JUNK electronics. He's a joke, Centrury's a joke.

They go tmy money... but never again.

Unfortunately, this is very typical of century not wanting to take responsibility for their fouled up birds. They made me buy the new high authority tail motor and wouldn't even knock the price down a little considering I barely got to fly it after 2 tail motors crapped on me. Beleive me you all have my sympathy. They outta change their website to http://www.wegotyougood.com

Wow, that sux. Glad I haven't tried to get anything replaced by them...also glad I ditched the tail motor after the first 5 minute flight!

Limited Warranty: Product is warranted against maufacturing defects for up to 90 days from the original purchase date. Note that attempting to fly the product voids all warranties as most parts were underdesigned and intended to fail thus forcing the purchaser to fork over big bux for equally shoddy replacement parts.

Hrm, sounds on the up-and-up to me!
