I've got one and I'm a bit indifferent to it. With this heli, it all depends on how cheap it is and what you want to do with it. Its not that bad but its NOT a 3D machine either. Its heavy for a start, also you'll only get -6 pitch stock so no inverted even. However, it is very stable, is easy to carry around in the nice metal case and looks nice with the upgrade canopy. It needs brushless and I have a mega 16/15/4 in mine with a Phoenix 25. So, not a 3D heli and not really an areobatic heli either, but at the right price and as a first CP, its not too bad and its sturdy.
It's not complete "junk" but it depends on how much it yours would cost you, I got mine from my brother as a gift however, I understand they are very expensive new and if they cost more than either the zoom or the Hornet II, I would certainly go with either of those first.
If money is not object / you have both the hornet II and the zoom / you want something "different" then why not?
I think of mine as a more exotic micro, something a bit different to fly now and then.
