Which would be the most suitable servo for collective on a Sceadu 50 EVO

Futaba 9451 or Futaba 9151 ?

Secondly I need to buy a new Gyro (I am only a novice)

I dont mind spending a little more money now but is the 601 worth the extra $$ over the 401/9254 combo.

Thanks

Peter

401 / 9254 combo is what you want for the gyro. Will do anything you want. If you want to get into world class 3D, then the 601 will hold better in fast backwards flight.....like in doing hurricances. You don't need the 601.

As far as the collective, I use the Airtronics 758's with my Futaba Rx. They are 90 oz. torque at .07 seconds. All metal gears. Very nice servo.

Best Regards, Dario

You want a 560 Micro and 9254...

No gyro on the market is better, and only the 601 can come close/equal..

The 401 is just not in the same league...

Agreed, get the 560 micro with a 9254 servo running behind it.

For collective, 9252 should work great.

Yeah for a 50 size the 9252 is a great collective servo...

The 560 is not exclusively for hard 3d, anyone that wants decent piro rates, good heading lock and ease of setup will love the 560micro and 9254 combo...

I dont do hard 3d but I love my 560's, all of em...

I let a die hard 601 fan (who is also a brilliant 3d pilot) try my 560 v3 the other day... his words... "this gyro is awesome"

Hello

The GY401 with Airtronics 94758 is an awsome combo. I agree that the 401 doesnt have the features that the 560 has or as fast a piro rate. But the 401 is much easier to setup than the 560 and is more immune to setup imprefection. I know people throw the term hard 3D around a lot but honestly, how many of us can put a heli through the hell that JK, Todd B, CY, Russ D, ect can put a heli through. I had a 560 micro and it was perfect in my Logo 10 but as soon as I put it in my Pred 90 the OS91(original version) vibes just drove it crazy. Its weird but I found that the vibes made the auto trim feature in the gyro go wacky and id check it every flight just to see where it was and reset it back to 0% for the next flight. It would be perfect in the beginning but a min into the flight it would drift like crazy. When i checked the gyro I found that it had added 10% of trim and I never flipped the HH to Rate mode switch on my Tx; there should have been no auto trim.

I agree, the 401 is just not in the same league as the 560 micro but if you want an easy to setup gyro the 401 is probably more than enough, espically for a novice; it is for me and I fly my Pred 90 pretty hard.

For pitch the 9252 should be more than enough and the 9451 looks like its a very similar servo just with metal gears. Both cost about the same.

Hello

Curious, what settings are you using for your tail. Im in DS mode, with the delay set to 0% and the gain in my radio is set to 80%. Holds just fine for me.
