Ok guys due to my locality it would be well worth moving from nitro to gasser.

I like the look of the Predator. So what sort of flying times can you get on a tank and what's it worth for a gallon of fuel or the oil inparticular for these things?

Thanks

I have a P-gasser. I once timed a tank.

With tank completely full, and I run it down until there was about 1/4 inch left in the tank,( I didn't want to run it completely dry) I got 32 minutes.

Yes, you read right 32 minutes. I was tired of flying after that!

Gasoline will cost whatever your local gas station has it for. Its better to get a good synthetic oil to use. I pay $12.00 for a quart. I use 2 oz. per gallon of fuel. You do the math.

I personally burn camper fuel instead of gasoline. Its a little more expensive, nearly $3.00 a gallon, but still light years away from nitro.

I figure the money I save on fuel cost, will buy my gasser in a little over a year.

Well worth it, you'll love it!! I hate nitro now that I have the gasser.

Good luck,

Scott

Let's do some quick analysis...

Assume the following...
- 20 oz of fuel for 32 minutes of flight (accounting for remaining 1/4" of fuel)
- $23 including shipping for two quarts of AMSOIL, enough for 32 gallons of fuel
- $3 a gallon for camper fuel
- 2 oz of AMSOIL per gallon of fuel (64:1 ratio)

That would work out to the following...
- 6.5 flight per gallon of fuel + oil (130 oz/20 oz)
- 208 minutes of flight per gallon
- $3.72 per gallon of fuel + oil
- $0.57 per loooong 32 min flight!!!
- $0.0179 per minute

Now, let's compare that to a 90-size glow burning 30% nitro which is $25 a gallon here in Albuquerque. My buddy with a Fury Extreme gets 10 mins of flight per 16 oz tank of fuel. That comes out to $3.13 per ten minute flight and $0.31 per minute. That is about 17.5 times more expensive to fly!
