Hey folks, I am in Torrance, CA and looking for people to fly with.
I already made it into MTA hobbies, (great place!) and over to the Carson flying field, (night flying mostly after work). I haven't seen anyone around flying there, is there another field with more activity or does anyone fly at specific times at the Carson field?

Thanks and hope to see you all out there...

I realize its kind of far for you, but I fly at the 605 / 210 Fwys on the weekends. There is a club there.

Thanks! Looks like that club is mostly airplanes, are helicopters welcome there as well? About how far driving would that be from here?

Where is the Carson Field? And what are the membership requirements?? Any?

I work in El Segundo, but live in Irvine and fly there too (El Toro) - but if there's a place closer to work than that means a lot more flying time!

If it's an open field, I 'm game to go out there on weekday evenings!

RappyLuv,

Greg's been there. In fact, I think he suggested flying there this weekend since El Toro is closed due to the Scale event.

Just a quick reply to say thanks to all who have been very accomodating. The Carson field has been great, even night flying has been fun there, thanks to archangl who has been very welcoming, I hope to make to El Toro sometime next week as well to check it out.

I see that this is an old thread, but is the Carson flying field still around? If yes, where? I'm in Redondo Beach, but any South Bay site would be great.

People are generally there on the weekends.. alot of people.. I used to go there during the week for some nice wide open field flying by myself.. that was with my raptor.. Now i just got a Trex and so i just use some local parks/fields.. Im also in Redondo Beach.. pretty much use any parks/school/fields.. obviously when not in session and such.. wouldnt do it with a gasser/nitro do to noise and size but the trex is just fine..
