I just installed a GV-1 in my Raptor 50V2. My radio is JR8103 and the Rx JR700. I have the GV-1 set-up so the pitch trim knob controls RPM from 1500 to1750RPM. I would rather just go to idle up and have the GV-1 automatically go to 1750. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to do this with out changing my receiver to 8C.

The way I have mine set is :-

Aux on/off goes to Aux2 on the RX and Aux rpm goes to Aux3 on the RX. This makes the gov turn on and off by using the rudder dual rates switch. You must go into the setup of the radio and enable the gyro sens so that the rudder dual rate switch will work. On the gyro sens screen 100% turns on the gov, 0% turns it off.

Using Aux3 on the RX allows the flight mode switch to control the speed of the gov. So on the gov, if you go to the rpm settings screen and flick the flight mode switch you will see that you can select a different headspeed for each flight mode.

There are different was to set up a gv-1 the key is to use Aux3 to control the headspeed and not aux2, since aux3 is tied to the flight mode switch

thats correct but the problem is that the R700
doesn't really make Aux3 available. You'd
have to put a PMIX into the 8103 to re-map
the Aux3 channel to whatever the R700 gives
you, probably Aux2 (master A3 -> slave A2,
INH GYRO SENS)

Sorry, I got a little confused, it was early It didn't twig about the R700, that's not the one I have on my rappy with the different headspeeds. I did use the R700 on my nexus though and found that I could select one headspeed with the on off switch but didn't manage to get more than one available headspeed.

If you use gear for your gyro gain, I think that you could plug the GV-1
into aux 2 and enable the [GYRO SENS] function to change headspeed.I am not 100% sure on this, but can't see why it wouldn't work.

that would work.........

but........

he wants a different speed in EACH flight
mode. Doing it via GYRO SENSE as you
suggest will only get him 2 speeds, not 3

Z11355,
All Phil said was he wanted was to go to 1750 in idle up, he didn't say
he wanted three different headspeeds.

Thanks for the posts, I do only need 2 speeds. I will try nivleks idea. Was out flying today, first day with GV-1 it sure works well. It seemed like my engine was not developing full power during climbs right after a rapid descent. I changed all my throttle curves to linear. Forgot that I still need a v curve for idle up. So glad I did not loop it.

There is an option in gv-1 to turn on the gov when you apply full throttle. This will give you the maximum amount of power available.
