Curious to the minimal size heli that people are using with these set-ups. Could one use like a Evo 50, Rap 50 for it?

thanks,

Karl

Can you elobrate more on the camera set-up you're using with your 30 size?

I'm wondering if the 50 is enough for like the Airfoil Mounts... Anyone have experience with this?

I'm running an X-Cell Gas. This is basically a 60 size machine with a G231PUH engine.

Gas has longer run times and almost no oil spray/smoke to be an issue. Not as clean as a battery ship, but I like it a lot.

Hi KGB

I have some early pics of the heli and cam mount in my gallery.
Sorry not a real close up shot.

Lots of previous posts with info such as this one.

This is a bone stock Kyosho Caliber with an OS 32. Add a Curtis MP and a metal swash, and carbon blades & paddles, sawp to a less ugly canopy, stap on the M1 carbon mount from Airfoil and you are ready to go.

I don't have a ton of power, and I live in temperate weather, but I have flown it at around five thousand feet elevation, I can still lift/comfortably fly a small DV camcorder or a five mega pixel digital camera, downlink and accessories. Not a huge investment, it shoots amazing photos, low noise factor, it will autorotate. I will point out that the larger platforms will be easier to see and will be generally more stable than one of the smaller 30's.

Ninety nine percent of the photos thta I have posted have come from this very platform.

Not much to look at, but it shoots amazing video & stills.

Carbon fiber, this one is actually fiberglass, like you would find at "tap plastics"

The tube is considerably larger than the exit on the muffler. I notice no loss in power or performance. Yes it works well, keeping the splooge off the gear.

For exhaust pipe, standard automotive heater hose does fine.

Its running off an expansion chamber so length is not critical.
But the larger it is the cooler the extension will stay.
