Hey all,

How are you guys with X-specs and YS91s starting your machines? Are you using a long hot shot going direct to the plug or a head lock with remote mounted on frame or.....????????

Thanks!

Hey that's what I'm using too! Remote glow is the way to go. Starter is Hanger9 heavy duty on 24v. More than enough juice!

I've got an OS Cspec PS with a viper head - the Viper head allows me to put the ni-starter directly on the angled plug - it's pretty cool! No more stupid remote start thingies - I hate those damn things they always freakin breal at the worst times!

Sounds great I though the skid brace would be in the way.

I use the long shafted "el-cheapo" glo driver. The shorter ones might hit on the frame brace, but I am not sure because this is all I have ever used.

Yo may remove the front frame brace, but then the frames will be in harms way. The long ni-starter like this one will clear the frame brace

Since I don't have a Viper Head, I resort to a Hanger Nine remote glow setup. It is set up on the lower engine mount screw. Comes as a complete set for under $10.00. They make both the dummy glow plug style and the stereo plug in style. I use both types on my helis, they all work fine!

Fly it like you stole it!
