I was afraid to start cutting into a $30 set of Oakley lenses so I headed down to my local hardware store and bought a couple of pairs of safety goggles.

The resulting hack seems to work pretty well:

Bill,

I have a question for you about the 'eyetop' system.

Is there basically a small LCD monitor and a mirror in the part which mounts to the glasses?

Are there any lenses also?

I have never seen the Eyetop unit in person and am wondering what's inside of there.

Thanks!
Rich

Hi Rich,

Yes, there is a tiny LCD monitor inside the glasses. I'm not sure if there is a mirror, or if you are looking at the LCD directly, but there is a small lense with diopter adjustment so you can focus the image.

Regards,
Bill

Bill,

Thanks so much! I've got some homebrew ideas churning! I wonder if I can pull if off!
