I tried to refill one of those candle lighter (the lighters with the long stem) with butane and it wouldn't work, so I got pissed and tore the whole thing apart. Well I was playing with one of the pieces (a little thing that you push together) and when I pushed it together I got a bad shock. Its the thing that makes the spark to ignite the flame and it puts out a pretty big spark (I see it arcing over a half inch).

I don't think it would qualify as a 'bad' shock.. Touching picking up a CRT(bare, no case) after it's been charging for a half hour next to a Van De Graf generator.. now that's a bad shock that you'll never forget. The Piezoelectric ignitors can be fun though.. Light up small flourescent tubes, zap your friends, etc

I knew some guys who'd built a shoulder launcher for oranges from a length of PVC pipe (dia large enough for oranges) and used an electronic lighter as per above to ignite RP7 as a fuel.
This was a great little toy. It would send an orange 150 metres no worries.

I also knew of some other guys who built one to launch golf balls. Not a clever idea

Take the piezo zapper to school and shock your friends I got mine taken away by a teacher. I was a baaaaad boy

The world-record pumpkin launcher is based 20 miles north in Mason. They're getting near 3/4 mile now!

For a good shock, had a kid try to pee on a lawnmower at full chat. As soon as he hit the plug wire - OUCH!

yep! the wonder and ability of p.v.c. pipe! when i was a kid we used steel pepsi or coke cans. the bottom can had holes punched out in the top with a small hole in the bottom side then cut out the tops and bottoms of 2 or 3 cans and taped them end to end together.
we would squirt lighter fluid(also known as coleman or ozark fuel) into it then sink a tennis ball into it and light it at the hole at the bottom. lots of fun! ken

"Take the piezo zapper to school and shock your friends"---Peter65

I did that and sold it to one of them for $3

I have also used one in my 50cal. potato gun.....you can make a lot of bullets out of 1 potato at 1/2" bore.

"were do you get 1 inch potatos at . i have to turn these down to fit "
-----prophanger1

I can just imagine a potato in a lathe turning it to the right diameter.........Just sharpen the front of your barrel and jam them in.....perfect fit.

This was more fun than 1-pump BB-gun battles...
We used to take Coke cans (before they were flimsy aluminum), use a can opener to take the top and bottom out of 3 cans, take the 4th can and poke a hole on the side of the can about 1/2" from the bottom of the can. We would duct tape them together with the 4th can on the bottom (drink hole at the top).
Then we would take a tennis ball, stick it down the tube (rests on the 4th can), and take lighter fluid and squirt a little in the bottom can through the hole.
We then took a lighter, pointed the 'cannon' down the street, and put the flame near the side hole.
The tennis ball would travel at least 100 yards!
Major fun!

God invented time so we don't have to do everything at once!
