Your a learner you have a seconda hand shuttle zts which you fitted about $200 on in worn out bits and you've crashed you need to spent a further $200 on parts.

The shuttle has a MDS 38 Pro engine and and hirobo muffler. which you expect to be quite old

WHat do you do as per the POLL

Thanks

that's alot of parts $200 put it towards a raptor. Cheaper crash costs and a better heli. all the electrics will fit and the engine so you won't have to replace them.

Whatever you decide, chuck out the MDS(More Dead Sticks) engine.

go with the v2 even if you do replace all the broken parts on the shuttle with quick bits they will weigh the heli down and they may still break

Remember crashing is stupid and you could end up crying in front of your friends!

Setup ?

I bought a shuttle with all radio starter etc from ebay for £295 ($544)
I took it to a heli expert and i needed new boom pitch slider tail rotor shaft, change lever pulley etc so bought quickuk parts which came to
£131 ($241) I then crashed and now need
New blade grips, shaft, feathering, flybar, carrier, boom, tail case, belt etc which come to about $300 from quickuk

So hence my dilemma, buy the bits or just sell the good bits on ebay and buy a raptor.

Dont forget the rip of britain factor has helped my pricing

Just buy the Raptor and be done with it. Keep it bone stock, and have fun. When stuff wears out, then you can upgrade things as needed.

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

CRAPtor
here we go again, SENECA is moaning his ass of again about raptors.

the raptor is a great piece of machinery, whether it is cheap or not, if the raptor was more expensive, people would still buy it for its mad 3d capability, its great parts avaliabilty, and for its great, simple but effective design.

Sigh.

Yet another new guy, looking for a simple answer to a simple question, gets treated to an episode of "Who's the biggest jerk on RR????"

I just recieved some information that I am going to share. This info was given to me buy a very respected fellow RR. I was in the market to buy a 2nd heli and I had the same delema. The info that was given to me was stated like this

" yes you can get a raptor and yes it will probably do the same job"

" you can also buy a pair of shoes from kmart or you can buy a pair of nike's, and yes they will do the same job"

"BUT IT SURE IS NICE TO HAVE A PAIR OF NIKE'S"

after sleeping on that coment for many of nights, i decided to spend a few extra dollars and not get the raptor. I happen to agree on that coment, If it where all about money then why are we not on dial up,driving pintos, have cell phones, a pair of nike's, living in a trailer, and most of all in this hobby. The biggest line of crap I can hear out of someone mouth is I bought this to save money, BUDDY YOUR IN THE WRONG HOBBY.
