I have been running Hitec HS-85 servos and want to upgrade to something better. What are some good high precision micro servos? I would really like one with a coreless motor.

Ben, I have been looking also and all I have found that will fit are the new S3150's from Futaba. They are a dual BB coreless digital with metal gears. The next option is the JR3121/DS3421 same case, only differance is the DS is digital. The problem with these is their length and four mounting screws, I have talked to Jeff from sly's hobbies and there might be a new upper servo frame coming with a rise to the servo mounting lugs to allow the use of the 3121/3421 size servos but I havent heard anything about a time frame on this part. So right now it's the S3150's or nothing in a high end servo.

What about the S3102? It looks like it has the same specs as the S3150 but not digital and a lot less expensive.

Who has the lowest price on the S3150?

The S3102 goes back to a three pole motor and no BB(yuk) no better than the HS-85BB. The best price I have seen on the 3150's was $59.99 but I dont know how is selling them at that price txkawboi(rcgroups) found them!

I forgot there are a couple Airtronics servos that might be worth checking out but they are $pendy also they are the 94145Z for tail and 94557Z for the head. Both are coreless, so they will give better acuracy than the HS85 but they both also have a metal gear train so they will develop slop quicker. The main reason I want to go with the 3421sa's is they meet all requirments for a precise servo. Dual BB, coreless motor, nylon gears.

Servos ?

Hi Folks,

I currently using Robbe FS 500 servos (recommended by my local dealer) which are quite cheap but neither powerful or fast.
I have ordered three S 3150 as they seem to be the best compromise in:

-speed
-metal gears
-ball bearing
-digital
-hold power

and they are not too expensive 45 EUR in Germany. I already had problems with my servos when I installed the MS Composit ball links - the servos weren't strong enough ! I don't want to loose all the money just by having crap servos !

Markus, Keep us posted on how the 3150's work out for you! They are tempting since they are a drop in fit!

Huh, I have been looking around for feed beck on them but so far only know of two people that have ordered them? I'm sure they will be an improvment over the HS81/85's

S-3150

Hey Buzzsaw46,

I fully agree - it's quite strange that nobody uses them. Nevertheless I'am sure that the precision & power of these servos may even compensate that they are a bit slow compared to the rest !

I hope to get them on Monday - although my dealer didn't told me which Monday he meant.......................................

I'm looking to order some but the only place I found them was in servo city and they will not ship to Australia.

Anyone know who has them in stock who will ship to Australia (or even better, a dealer in Australia with stock?).
