Ok I need to post this here to get a better response. My 9Z took a crap and glitches like crazy on the aileron axis verified on the servo screen. I pulled this thing apart to try and clean the pot. but it is a sealed unit with no way to get contact cleaner in it. I also know that contact cleaner is a quick fix since it washes the lube out and the foil quickly oxidizes and wears without it. Ok here is my problem. The pot. reads 4.75 k ohms across the reostat and from ~80ohms to ~4.7k ohms on the wiper but the only part used during movement is about ~1000 ohms in the center. Now the complicated part this thing looks purpose built. The end is drilled and tapped for the bearing and the shaft has a hole drilled that looks like it does nothing. Where can I source this or even begin to get a part number for this. I am going to call radio south but don't know if thay will help me out since I am not a dealer or authorized to do any of this. And before anyone jumps all over me. I do have access to the programming menus (hidden) to recalibrate the sticks and also the ability to do a clean reset after all the work is done. I can't justify paying what I am sure will be well over 100 dollars for what might turn out to be a 2 dollar part.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
got your PM, sorry for the late reply. I was away on holiday.

You should be able to buy the pot from the Futaba service centre. At least here in UK Ripmax (the importer) sells spare parts for the 9Z.

Regards,
Angelos

Hey thanks

Thanks for the info, I got the pots from Radio South in the US. What an awsome company, I thought they would kill me on prices but very reasonable. I hope I got it all put together right. I just center caled them to 2k ohms and installed then and then calibrated center, right lower, and left upper. Thanks for you help. As far as tearing apart the 9Z I would like to shoot whoever designed it.
