Hello,
Flew my 50 today after my normal preflight. All went well. Refueled and getting ready to go out again. Perform another quick preflight. I usually pull the canopy off and give everything a fast look to see if anything had come loose from the previous flight.
I found my rear elevator pin was 80% out of its bore. I have been keeping a bit of CA on the ends of the pins. Thanks to RR. It was mostly frightening because I would have had no back cyclic at all for any inverted flying....
Went to the LHS and immediately bought PV0097--aluminum elevator arm upgrade. It is already installed as I write this. Next and probably last is the metal washout arms. I don't want any bling on the heli but I understand those small pins have broken and/or backed out also.

My two cents.. Much better way to retain pins...

Drill a hole halfway through the shaft bearing area on the elevator seesaw. Roughen the center section of the a arm pins with rough sandpaper. Assemble normaly, then use a toothpick to wick a smalldrop of thin ca into the hole on top of the exposed pin. Will not fall out, but can be removed for rebuilds.....Has worked fine on my last 5 Raptors of all sizes....

Yep! I've seen those pins come out and the results are usually not pretty! DrDots suggestion will work, but I like the security of knowing that pins that hold important things are properly secured with clips!

I'll probably catch a lot of flak for this, but some bling is more than just bling - a lot of it will increase the reliability of your heli and thus the safety. I replaced the part in question with the metal one with e-clips almost right away on my 1st 30 V1. I still have the part and am still flying it on my newest V2 50. It was worth the money to have the peace of mind. I also have been running the metal washout arms for the same reason, I have seen those back out as well.

I use the Losi Mini-T "hinge pin kit as sugested by jonMann at http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/...ght=Losi+Mini-T

Cost almost nothing, and is as good as the metal upgrade
