We are thinking of having a full scale visit us at our summer FF. I see a lot of places where this is common. My question is this. Is there a problem with the landing spot being too close to all the ez ups? What is a good distance to be away from the tents so they don't all blow away?

we had one come to our funfly last year. everything worked out great, as long as who ever is flying does an approach to the ground (instead of a hover) you have little problem with blowing anything over. I would say maybe 100' away from everyone and everything would be a safe distance to land. Also, when they take off, have them do a max performance take off to minimize blowing anything over and i dont think it would be a problem.

Full-size heli should stay about 100' away. We had a fly-in at Ann Arbor years ago where a Bell 47 ignored parking marshals and hovered to park where he wanted. Blew over a picnic table about 60' away, broke a woman's leg.

Flying helis since gyros had springs.

He did pay for all damages.

The guy still makes his living with his heli, aerial photos of farms and companies.
