No B-52, no 747 -- but how about a couple of AMT turbines on your experimental aircraft?

B-52 has moved

Hey folks,
Dan had to pull it because in just the SINGLE DAY PRIOR to pulling it Scalerchelis (http://www.scalerchelis.com) had:

Hits per Hour: 94,313
Hits per Day: 1,046,499
Files per Day: 844,456
KBytes per Day: 101,265,553

The site ground to a halt. It was amazing. We all thought that our connections were dead and gone!

David McGirt has posted the B-52 on his site to take the heat off:

Takeoff Video
http://www.mcgirt.net/RC/VIDEOS/Gia...B52_Takeoff.wmv
Flight Video
http://www.mcgirt.net/RC/VIDEOS/Gia...52_Flight_1.wmv

Cheers,
Grover

not rc

I don't think thats rc, if you were to take a 747 and scale it down into an rc plane it wouldn't fly. There is no way you could ever get it going fast enough. You'd need leading edge slats with flaps and all that stuff and you'd probally never be able to put them back in the wing for it would just stall and fall out of the sky.

You'd need leading edge slats with flaps...
which it has. Somebody has already said they've seen a video of it flying. just becuase it happens to be a model 747 doesn't mean it wont fly. Plenty of other models that size fly.

nooo

If you took the same airfoil off a 747 and put it on a model it wouldn't fly.
Not to mention the huge CG issues.

BS.
With enough power a brick will fly.

So you can tell it has the exact same airfoil as a full size 747 from the picture??

There's no CG issue if he built it right. I don't understand why you think there would be a CG issue.

BG

BG are you kidding!? a 747 has fuel in the wings and must be balanced through out the plane to keep it in cg. and good luck on finding where the cg should be on a wing with a sweep like that. The center of pressure of hte wing needs to be farth enough behind the cg to give you posotive static stability. But that is an amazing model!
