i seen these at wally world,,,(wal mart)one kit comes with some paint and the other dosent come with paint, what i would like to know is how do these air brushs work,do you adjust the paint flo from the nozzel or do you have to by different nozzels for different spray patterens, can i use an air tank, how is the air flo regulated thru the gun for the time being till i feel its worth getting and air compresser.
if any one can give me any info on the air brushs that would be great thanks scott.

sounds like a external mix gun they most of them wont do fine lines so if you wanting to ger fancy get a internal mix gun.

Depends on what you'r trying to do. Most people that have anything to do with art will tell you that the testors is a piece of junk. And to be honest i'm not impressed with the one i have. Part of that has to do with the nozels being kind of a pain to clean due to the paint flowing thru the spring. I think that as long as you stick to acrylics which are relatively easy to clean up(solutions to disolve dried paint w/out ruinning plastic are available) you should be alright.

They are junk they work on compressed air from a can . I painted a few model cars with one it did pretty good but after about 2 cars the airbrush was done .... but what can you expect from a $17 airbrush as the old saying goes you get what you pay for .

Do your self a favor. find Bear Air on the internet and order from them . they have quality air brushes and have quality paints that you can use. Also if you tell them you are a new paintewr they usually will give you a video on painting.

Scott,

The cheap airbrushes you talk about are external mix single action.

Depending on what you wish to do with this airbrush will determine what type you need.

The external mix is a basic paint gun, it doesn't do fine intricate work, it's for filling in color...

If you want to artwork with the airbrush you must use a dual action internal mix. The dual action is what you see the pros use to paint pictures and artwork on tee shirts, motorcycles, etc...

If you're painting a canopy or body you may find the small airbrushes too small. I got an automotive touch up gun at Harbor Freight for under $20.00 it works great, you can do fades with it if you are careful and you can shoot two part automotive clear if you wish.

I don't like using an airbrush if I want a large area and need an even coat, it's a little difficult to do with that small of a brush.

Check into the touch up gun from HF, it may be what you want and is much cheaper than the Hobby Shop Badger Touch Up gun that sells for around $90.. the HF gun is teflon coated tank and all metal, very nice for the money.

If you want a nice airbrush for intricate work, get a dual action Paasche or Iwata. Run it from a tank with a water trap and regulator.
