Agreed- I see your point... But to hijack threads on different forums consistantly gets old. It wouldnt be so bad if they had something positive to say. Your right, visiting together is best for all. More people more info learned. I have not ruled out the H2 and I am not on a H2 slam campaign. I actually could care a less cause I didnt fork over my life saving for one.. I am happy for any Zoom or H2 pilot ,that enjoys what they are doing. And to future zoom or H2 owners.. Good luck finding the heli to suit your style and budget.

PEACE!

Guess I have been on a hornet slam haven't I. I'll try to explain. When I decided to try ehelis I started doing research trying to decide what to buy. I got caught up in all the hype of the hornet. Now I read about alot of the problems that hornets were having, but you never know what is actual problems and what is pilot errors. I asked alot of hornet pilots about the hornet before I bought one, and was told what a great heli it was. Now I really think that you hornet pilots should try to give a nube more info about the upgrades that are needed, the attention to detail needed, and how much money is tied up in the hornet. When I say a nube, I mean to ehelis, not the hobby. I started with a Schluter Heli-Boy, and have had some high dollar nitro helis. So I do understand what upgrades can do for a heli. But I have never bought a heli that needed so many upgrades, and still be such a pain. So if you do answer a question that a nube has asked about the hornet and how good is it. Try to tell them a little more about what is involved.
Just because I had a bad experience with the hornet, doesn't make it a bad heli in any way. I got on my rampage when I started reading about people slaming the zoom and saying how great the hornet is. We will have to agree to disagree on that. I really hope that no one is truely mad over all this mouthing back and forth. Can't we all just get along!!!

......I bought a zoom last night........

Welp last night I felw the ZOOM 400. WOWEE!!!!!!! I finally found what I have been looking for !!!!!. This thing is so incredibly cool. Darral I found something that I don't have to modify :-)

It came out of the box 90% assembled with a speed 400 can motor mounted already. all I did was install 3 HS-55's on the pitch-elevator/aileron and 1 HS-50 glued right to the vertical tail fin for the shortest possible tail pitch rod. I used an Ikarus 30 amp brushed speed control I had lying around, a GY240 and a Berg5 DSP G2 and a Model Avionics Whip antenna. and Thunder Tech 1500 li-po cell

This bird is SOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOO stable !!! It was at least as stable as my Hawk !!!!. mostly because of the flybar weights. 2 clicks of forward elevator and 3 clicks of right Cyclic and the thig hovers hands off !!!. It flew sooo well I can't stop smiling as I write this :-) :-) :-).
The swashplate control is surprisngly accurate !!

The stock 400 motor works really well for "normal" flying and slight areobatics. The only thing I am going to change in a couple of weeks is go to 3D style tail fins for a faster piro, and a Himax 4200 Brushless motor, Castle Creations Phoenix 25 and motor heatsink. That is all that needs to happen,,,,, well maybe a set of carbon blades.....

I painted this thing in dayglow colors and is soo easy to see in the sun. Cannopy and tail fins and paddles are neon orange, boom braces, main blades and tail blades I misted with neon green.

I flew it last night and it was about 5-10 MPH wind gusts... it was alittle tricky but It flew well. this morning the first thing on my mind was to get my ass out of bed at 5:30a.m. take a shower, and ran into "my hobby shop" room grabbed the zoom and went out doors... there was no wind this morning and the Zoom was AWESOME!!!! This the funnest time I have had since I got into heli's.

Darral if you want a micro that you will be impressed with and want to fly like like ANY of your other ships.... this is the one to get. I have a feeling you will be dissapointed with the Hummer.......

I have a bad feeling that the Hornet is going to have to be regulary dusted off from neglect........

Personally I just have not told my lady about the zoom yet.. hehe I think she just thinks it's my hornet with a colorful painjob... Shhh... :-)

Finally!!!!!
Maybe now people will understand what I've been talking about.
Yes I was slamming the Hornet, but not without cause. The Zoom is a great heli, and doesn't take all the upgrades to fly. I may not have gone about this is the best way, but all I wanted was for everyone to know as many facts as possible before choosing a heli. I fell into the Hornet trap along with alot of other pilots, hopefully this will save someone alot of money and headaches. I'm sure before long there will be a new helicopter out, and there will be alot of hype about it. But I don't see any heli out doing the Zoom for quite some time to come. Like it or not, the Zoom is here to stay!! I'm starting to see some spectacular videos of the Zoom flying 3D, I get more excited with each video I see. I'm finally enjoying the hobby again, and that is what it is all about!!!!

H2? Are they still trying to sell that one?

I heard that the H3 is comming out soon, and that includes a 1 litre bottle of superglue...

You can´t really compare these helicopters, Oh sorry, helicopter and ... well, cash eater.

Zoom flies great stock, add brushless and stur, and you have a winning concept.

H2 flies, add alot of expensive stuff, hard work and mostly keep it on the shelf and you OWN a micro heli..hehe

You are delusional Tom. The H2 doesn't need a lot of expensive stuff, and from the videos I've seen so far, The H2 flies the **** out of the Zoom. But I guess that's what happens when all the best pilots fly H2s and all the newbies get Zooms.

HAve fun, just don't click your heels three times....
