all was going well with the build, and then it happened. the dreaded missing parts. okay, one screw no problem. i'm missing the screws that hold the skid plate to the engine. the starter to the skid plate. bearings for the tail pitch slider. set screws for the tail gears. and about 8 of the 3x8 cap screws. this would be a problem if it didn't take so long for stuff to get to this side of the world. i could go out and search for the parts here, but that could take forever. it took me 6 hours just to find red loktite. so hopefully century can do me a big favor, and do some shipping magic, and get these parts too me soon. other than that, this is a great heli. instructions are well done. the only difficult part is the fuel tank. takes some patients and creativity to get the fittings in place.

Contact Century, ask for Dennis or Richard and see if they can get the parts to you. They have been rushing to kit these things up and apparently are making some mistakes.

Hang in there...you'll love this heli! Oh, and those instructions are 100X better than the Pred glow instructions.

spongebob1871,
Those screws come with the engine itself.

> bearings for the tail pitch slider.

Yep, me too. Seems to be a very common issue.

> and about 8 of the 3x8 cap screws

I assume you looked through the entire kit for those. I think I had to open several bags to find all the screws I needed. They were all there in the end, though.

Good luck.

okay, now i'm getting upset. Century has been outstanding in getting the missing parts to me. Outstanding service!!!! now comes the rest. i ordered a new radio (9C), and digital servos. it's been six weeks, and still no radio or servos. we are being told that the USPS has 90 days to deliver regardless if it was sent priority or not. the truth is due to the war on terrorism, the service members are being punished. R/C equipment has been determined to possibly aide in terror attacks, and therfore is being monitored very closely by U.S. Customs. now i can't confirm this, but it makes sense to me. i have ordered a ton of parts from heliproz, and heli world/century. all of those parts make it in a week or less. so why does it take over a month for a radio? no difference in weight or shipping method. just blows my mind. so i wait for my servos.....i can't wait to fly this thing.

i ordered the radio from tower hobbies. which in the past has been excellent. a coworker is having the same problem with his trainer. parts seem to come very fast, but radios, and models take forever. i also ordered a saito four stroke for my 3d plane, and it's been over a month. don't get it???? well i'll go over my gasser one more time just to make sure everything is 100%. guess i can look at it from the perspective, that everything is done right.

WHY DID YOU CANCEL?

an update to my first post concerning Century, all the problems have been ironed out. i am very please with the service that they have provided.

even though my gasser kit was missing a few parts, it was to be expected. i got one of the kits from the early batches, so missing parts was to be expected. if i had to purchase them my self the total was about $5.00 worth of screws. other than that my gasser experience has be good so far. just got my servos today (only took a month). i really don't see why so many people bash century. if you have a problem, why don't you call them? i have found that after talking with century all of my problems have been resolved, and very quickly. look at it this way...i live 7,000 miles away, and century can get me parts faster than any other company. average of 4 days. no other company can beat that, and i have tried them all. so if their service is sooooo bad, this how can they accomplish this?

too many people are to quick to jump. i was upset when i wrote my post about century, but in response to that i called and wrote them, all from Japan. and guess what the problem was solved before i even got them on the phone. maybe the problem could be you instead of century??????? just a thought ;-)

Tell you what. I don't normally get involved, but if your willing, then so am I.

I will call and speak to Ron Lund tomorrow and see if they can get a gasser kit over to you. They have shipped internationally before.....

I will insure that your kit will have a good engine and the proper carb on it. I suggest the 231 myself....your too far out for any reasonable time line as far as help with an engine/carb issue.

PM me directly if you are interested in the help. I'm not going to expend my time and effort if it isn't important to you.

You can see where I live. It's the same continent but 7,000 miles south of where James lives.

James has helped me in the past, in getting Century to ship me the right Carb (643) and a missing canopy. My gasser is now flying, and in part thanks to James' help.

James is no Jesus but he is sure doing his part to save Century!
