We had the best attended rain out flyin in the USA. 107 pilots started arriving on Monday 5 days before the weekend. the weather was good until Friday night when it started to rain. Saturday it rain off and on during the day but it did not stop the bravest pilot from flyin even when it was raining from under out 7600 sq.ft. canopy. several of he pilots stood under the edge of the canopy and flew hole routines in the rain.

If you have any good stories about something you did or saw at mayday please feel free to let everyone know just what they misted by not attending mayday this year.

Mike, you guys hosted a great show! Thanks so much for the great hospitality, great food, and great fellowship. It was nice meeting alot of the fellas from RR! You and your crew were a first class group of guys, can't wait till fall and we do it all over again.

I will say that Curtis was amazing as usuall. Those that saw him fly James' Predator Gasser won't soon forget!

Mike,

As a first time attendee, I gotta say you guys put on a heck of program!! In spite of the rain, I had a great time (probably gained a few pounds too...) and you can count on me being there for the fall weekend.

As for good stories, HC's "almost made it" inverted auto through the EZ Up canopy (at deep dusk) was a biggy as well as Curtiss flying the Predator gasser in the rain, what a sight .

Anybody who hasn't been to Sulphur for the Fun Fly, needs to mark their calendars now for the next one. See ya in the fall (start the gators dancing the "no rain" dance now Mike...that'll give 'em plenty of time).

Thanks Again....

Here's the view of Mayday at LARKS Field from about 100' altitude on Saturday before it REALLY started to rain.

its the pilots that make mayday and fall fest the flyins that they are.

have a good flyin is like cooking. just add all the right ingredients and season generously.

Thanks guys had a great time as usual and we flew hard despite the high winds and rain!

The highlights for me was:
HC's inverted auto blade scuff...
HC's inverted auto under the EZ up tent(funniest crash I have ever seen)
Curtis's rainy time antics with AGRAV8's Pred Gasser

RappyTappy's flight on James's Pred Max (Man this kid has SKILLZ)

Oh, and Lift's 5-blade Hughes action

GREAT TIME!!

Mike thanks to you and your crew for a fantastic time.

This was my first out of town fun fly, and it was worth every dollar, and mile.

Many more thanks go to Bill Meador, who spent a lot of time with me and my gasser to make it a SWEET machine!!! He had to leave Friday due to falling ill. I wish him a speedy recovery!!

James (Agrav8), Payton (lift), Steve (SteveH), Phil (Oldfart), and Doug Adams of Century Helicopters, are all my new best friends. Each one all played a part in me having a FANTASTIC week end, and I am forever indebted to them!!!

I also met tons of other great people who I hope to meet again. Including Mark Ryder and his lovely wife Marilyn. Curtis Youngblood, Henry Caldwell, "Leroy", Clint from heli freaks, Jesse, Kendall, the guys from Zoom hobbies, really a huge group of extraordinary guys, some names I can't remember.

I know I sound sappy, but you just have to appreciate the great time I had. I was really depressed having to drive home.

I'm glad you guys have this twice a year!!!

Thanks again,

Scott

Hellofa goo time down dar in Louisiana!!

Mike,

Too bad I didn't get there until Sunday. But man did I have fun!! I'm the guy that got the Drag Race and Autorotation awards. Saweeeeeet!!

The Autorotation was a freebie but I couldnt believe I won the drags!!! A line up of Freya 90s and even a predator gasser!?!?. Talk about the underdog eating the cake! I almost didn't enter since all I had was a rappy 50!! Ummmm...Sorry about the thrashing there Mr. Ryder :-) oh and AGRAV8, maybe the gasser just needs a bit of tune up.....hehe

Hell of a lot of fun for my first heli event. I burned almost a gallon of fuel and got to see some real flyers ring out some serious helis. There were some great flyers with some great skills out there.

Thank you so much for putting on such a good time. See you in the fall!

P.S. I'll take it that any fun fly you guys put on is not safe place for a diet. Those were some nice eats!
