Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased the Mr. Carbon Tail Pushrond and boom supports and I have a question on the best method for assembling them.

For the Tail Servo pushrod do most of you use some kind of support bracket for these or just use them by themselves (floating in space with direct connection to the servo and the tail blade connector). If you use them with some kind of bracket, what bracket do you use? The stock ones that come on the EVO 50 or an after market product? If you use an aftermarket product, which one do you use?

For assembling both the Mr. Carbon Tail pushrod and boom supports, do you guys recommend using epoxy to put these together or do you recommend JB Weld?

Any and all advise is appreciated.

Thanks,

Yes and Yes...

Use the stock pushrod guides. They work great. You can also go without.

I use JB weld on all my carbon to plastic bonds. Hasn't let me down yet. Just do some light sanding on the inside of the rod to promote adhesion.

I've used JB Weld for years with no problem. Recently though started using gap filling Zap. It also works great. I got this tip from JK. You don't need a guide on an EVO but the rod may vibrate. I use one in the middle, and two on larger machines. I did have a problem with the rod wearing badly where it passes through the guide, so make sure there is no ridge left inside from the way the part is molded.

Thanks for the responses guys!

I'll go ahead and use the JB Weld then. These parts are aluminum and carbon and I'll just rough up the inside of the aluminum pieces and then rough up the tips of the carbon rods to help bond. I also thought about drilling a really small hole through the aluminum pieces and put a screw through them just like the stock EVO 50 boom supports are setup. That way even if they do come loose the screw will hold it.

I'll go ahead and use one of the guides for this bird that are already on there, as they have a both a round hole as well as an elongated hole and so I'll use the latter that's on it.

Thanks again for the help.
