I purchased a x-cell SE a while ago and finally got all the parts to get it going. I am having a problem though. I am putting a YS 61 st2 in and it wont fit. It looks like the carb is hitting the fan shroud and wont let it go up high enough. I cant tell if I am doing something wrong or it just wont go. I dont have the instruction manual. I went to ricks and their pics were not that helpful.
I was wondering if any one had any close pics of how it goes or suggestions of how to make it work. I might try to dremel out some of the shroud. I figured I should ask first.
Thank You for any help

Remove the fan shroud, both halfs. Install your engine and get everything lined up, clutch, gears so forth.

Then fit the fan shroud, do one half at a time, you'll be better able to see the materal that needs to be removed. once you have the first half completed, remove it from the helicopter. put the two halfs togeather off the helo and make the un-modified half of the fan shroud match the modified half.

you should be pretty close to a perfect fit after this, but may have to trim some more. It is not un-common to have to remove one of the screw attachments on the fan shroud in the area of the carb. hope this helps.

All this work is best done with a dremel or a moto tool.

The other posts are correct. The YS requires that you trim the shroud around the carb.
