Hey Gang,

I was wondering what your thoughts are on the original Hornet CP? I found a good deal on a new one (closeout) and that makes it very appealing. I checked previous posts and didn't find much. I have been wrestling with either purchasing a Hummingbird CP, or a Hornet 2 CP, then I found this deal.

Thoughts anyone???

The original CP is still great, even without lots'a'mods.

The only one I'd suggest is a steel tail output shaft.

A must have if you're into some serious flying is the Bell/Hiller-Mod.

Just be very exact when putting it together and setting it up, and you'll have lots of fun!

Cheers

I have been flying my hornet FP for 2 years now, it flies really well and is perfect as long as you dont go too fast in forward flight otherwise its really difficult to get it down without loosing all the head speed,

collective pitch really is the way to go with these micro's and if i was buying all over again i wouldnt consider FP, the only advantage with FP is that you are much less likely to break anything when you crash as there's a lot less parts to it

Well i would say go for it. It flies very well out of the box. But for great tail control u should get a CNC bell/hiller/ tail gear box/ and or a CNC bellcrank with ball in and bearings. All available from helihobby.

As i said the only problem with the cp is its tail and u can easily fix everything with a 20-30 dollar part.
