yes.

remember, the sensor on the TJ has to have
the tiny printing UP facing the magnet.

it makes a difference.

And in case of using two magnets for balancing purposes?

Is there a foolproof way to do it right?

(guess I'm able to understand what the manual says, but still screw up...)

use a compass, it will show north or south
If you don't have one stroke a needle against a magnet then float on a piece of cork in a dish of water
