Hello,

This is my first post so please be gentle...

This may sound like a silly question but I am quite new to this .. I have searched on the forum and the internet for the info i need but cant find it anywhere

OK ... My question...

On the hummingboard mixer with gyro there are 2 wires that are not labled.. I assume that one is from the receiver to the ESC to give throttle speed and the other is for the rudder command to the ESC ...
But which one is which???

One is a single orange wire and the other is three wires with a plug on the end..

Sorry for this sounding such a stupid question but like I say .. cant find info on it anywhere..

I'm not familiar with the all-in-one board; pictures would help!

No idea about the single wire, but the 3wire connector is probably a RX connector of some sort. It should have 2 3-wire RX connectors (one for main throttle and one for the tail).

I'm sure someone else has used this, anyone??

Oh! That's an interesting way of doing it. The 3-wire connector goes to ch3 on the RX I think, and the single orange wire goes to the signal pin of ch4 on the RX. RX connectors consist of signal, power, and ground, and since the board already supplies power and ground to the RX, there's no need for them on the CH4 connector.

If the main rotor fails to spin up when you give it throttle, flip the CH4 and CH3 connectors.

I dont want to just connect it not knowing which is throttle and wich is rudder because if i get it the wrong way the rudder channel will be in the middle and the rotor will start as soon as it is initialised at half stick also I dont want to damage the board ... I have 11.1/ 3cell lipo battery and half stick will be quite a high head speed to instantly go to .....

I need to know for definate which one is which ... thanks anyway pbmax

It shouldn't initialize unless it's armed. In any case, just hook a loose tail motor to to the main motor plugs and try it that way. No risk! Try plugging a lower voltage pack in if you're super paranoid, but I think your worries are unfounded in this case.

pbmax gave you the right information. Hook the 3 wire to ch 3 and the single wire to ch 4 signal pin( the same one the other orange wires on the other channels are hooked up to). I have the same mixer board you have and that's how mine is hooked up and it works fine. Your HB manual should have the same info in it. If you're using the Lightning radio, there are slightly different instructions which are in the Lightning radio manual. Best wishes- MC5

I have a JR Transmitter ... So my throttle channel is channel 1 and my rudder is channel 4.
Your HB manual should have the same info in it.
My manual doesnt even mention this type of mixer board ... see :- http://centuryheli.com/support/manu..._manual_web.pdf

Im not being difficult I just wanted a definate answer a to which wire is the throttle and wich is the rudder .. I dont want to wire it up trial and error method incase somethig isnt right ... I blow the board ... cant take it back ...

I do appreciate the help you are trying to give ... its just I cant afford to replace the board if something goes wrong (i am a student) I may be sounding paranoid and all you guys dont mind taking these chances but I am new to heli's and dont want to fry mine before I take off..

Many thanks for your help so far.

OK, maybe we're missing the whole point of your question. Let's see if this does it- the single wire is the rudder and the 3 wire is the throttle. Is that what you're asking? Best, MC5

cphummer.i think the reason you are not getting many answers is that in the uk there was a mix up with the electronics.got mine first day it came out.i was given all the electrics from the fp and no manual.it then turns out this setup is no good for the cp.the bec can not supply enough power to the servos.but going by the posts i have seen mainly from the states people are having no probs with the fp style setup.i have yet to exchange mine at the shop for the combined gyro/speedo which you have.the the u.k. the release was a bit of a shambles.if i knew the cp was going to be picco board style i would have got the zoom.
