hey i just bought a triton charger and i didnt realize that you need a power supply for it. Does anyone sell power supply for a cheap price? I do not want to spend another 50-60 bucks getting one from towerhobbies or helihobby.

RADIO SHACK SELLS THEM

There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness.'

I have two of the Ramboy K150a power supplies[12volts & 13 amps] if you are interested in one. I will sell it for 20.00 shipped to lower 48. Paypal is ok, but please add 3% for fees otherwise a money order is fine.

Thanks,
Dave

Build you an AC power supply from a cheap computer power supply like on http://www.rcbatteryclinic.com or for DC just buy the 8.00 cigarette plug from radio shack that has 2 terminals on them, the banana plugs fit great in the post holes, then you just snug down the red and black plastic nuts

Guys guys!!! 3 amps doesn't cut it!! The Triton needs 11 amps in order to operate properly!!. It will turn on, it will work..BUT!!! it will NOT charge your batteries properly!!
You have to go with a Pyramid or a power supply with this output!

Pyramid

I have the 10 amp continuos/ 12 amp surge, I just bought a Triton but haven't used it yet. I would think that 12 amp cont. would work fine, unless charging at the full 5 amps. I've got a 3000mah Nicd i will discharge tonight and recharge to see what happens w/10 amp power supply. I will let you know what happens.

I soldered a banana jack on one end of each terminal clamp, still works on direct hook up and you can flip it around and plug it into a power panel or radio shack power plug adapter with terminal ends

Charge

Charged the 3000mah Nicd w/ Triton and 10A PS, highest charge rate acheived was 2.8A

As for the charge cord I used an old set of multimeter leads w/ banana clips, then soldered the other ends to the pins on a standard charge plug. Worked very well as I tested a Hobbico charge lead and it got hot w/ only 2.5A going through it, the new one I made barely got warm at 3A discharge.
