Well I got my kit to upgrade the Pro-3 today.I wonder how I'm going to undo the epoxy joints. The instructions are pretty clear that no heat gun is to be used.I'm glad they sent me this before I crashed but sort of sorry that it has to be done over.I'm confident that there are no spare cf rods around yet..Has anyone done this yet? I believe that the directions mean to not use a heat gun on the new ones.... I have used a heat gun in the past to remove the titanium rod ends that were JB welded into the cf rods and then also had aluminum sleeves over the outside of them.

The heat gun will not damage the cf, but will melt the plastic.

I am waiting for the 3rd revision of these... Paul just sent me an email stating that ver3 should be in his hands shortly..

I myself feel that the ver2 link ends will be ok as they are double the thickness. But a couple of us are going to take some new ends, and soak them in fuel and in alcohol to see if the plastic will be affected.

Do you think the ones that Paul sent me are going to give me trouble?I think that the Quick Uk solution might be the answer. When I talked to Paul yesterday he just recieved a big shipment. Is there a newer version than this week's? TimT

Hey Tim,

I guess that robbe made a 3rd update... Bob Johnson is supposed to be testing them now... I dont know what the deal is with this 3rd rev.

Like I said... I will put my ver2 ends together and do a good side load test, then go fly!

This machine is awesome in the air, I cant wait till there is a good parts supply and robbe gets these small details worked out!

The quick uk link kits are great quality and the rod end go inside the cf rods. I feel that that is a better way, but.... I also think that the robbe ones will be fine.

Dont forget to drill a small 1mm hole into the side of the cf rod! this will relieve the preasure inside when you push the ends together with epoxy or jb weld. Also, do the long tail rod that way. One thought we had was that sitting in the sun, and it being black, maybe it developed some pressure inside and that pressure helped to fracture the link end. Its a thought?!?!
