hi folks
i am running a irvine 39H in a rappy 30 MP2 muffler using irvine contest 10 fuel my needle settings at present are (low needle level with barrel high needle 2 3/4 turns out ) getting loads of smoke but still climbing out and have ruined 3 mufflers so far (welds melting) MP2 seems to be holding out so far any help greatly appreciated

My engine does exactly what yours doesThe low end needle is level with the barrel and high speed needle is generaly set approx 2 turns out.
I have tried setting the h/s needle a lot richer, but it runs extremely hot regardless of what I do.
The odd thing is that the engine doesen`t seem that hot, but the muffler gets red hot and I have busted up two mufflers so far.

needle settings.

Naomi sent me this little video and I have used it since to set my carbs (even tried it with ground rc's). I have passed this around to many people.

tried this one on my tiger 39 pro worked a treat but to no avail on the irvine will phone them in the week ask their opinion and will post results here

Hi

I'm running an Irvine 39 ABC in my Raptor 30. I was using a Zimmerman 30 muffler and the engine ran really cool on the back plate using 15% coolpower. I change over to a muscle pipe 2 quite pipe and the engine started to run much hotter, also after 2 flights the MP2 split in half. Not Good. I may go back to the zimmerman or upgrade to an OS 50 and MP2 and have done with it. Seems like the vibration from the smaller engines make the 30 size MP2 fall apart.
