ive heard about the green and yellow sticker, where is it on the charger? is it in the back of the battery? i just ordered mine from helihobby and just wondering if they are the new or older version. thanks. Which one is suppse to be the updated(better) one? And does the triton come with a wall jack? Ive heard that u have to buy a 12V powersupply. Is the triton open-plug and play>> or do i have to buy that too?

I'd like to know the answer to this, too. My Triton was bought in December 2002 and has no stickers on it at all.

Isn't there a button combination that'll show the software version? Can it be updated?

The Triton only hooks to 12V DC. You'll need either a battery or power supply. 12V power supplies are pretty easy to come by. Especially on eBay. Just get one that'll put out at least 6 amps.

the triton needs 11 amps or it will not charge the batteries properly.. not every pc power supplies this amount!.. you will need a power supply that can provide this amperaage.. otherwise the triton will turn on..will charge batteries but not to their full capacity!!....This is why many members are SELLING them!! Not because it cost you 129.00 is good!!, Now I am buying a hell of a power converter.. total cost = 3 Tritons!!!!

Are there any other alternatives? I am also not very familiar with making one out of a computer power supply either. Dont want to do the wrong thing. Is there any good li-poly charger that comes with an AC adapter already? I've heard alot of things about li-poly exploding and such and do not want to make a power supply that can blow up my house. Can some one make one for me...i'll gladly for the cost. I am about to send the charger back because i do not want to spend any more money.

Do you have a charger for a lead acid battery? You can get a cheap deep cycle battery at Wal Mart and use that.

All these chargers are designed to run off a 12V battery so you can use it at home and at the field.

If you think a DC charger is expensive, try to buy one with an AC supply built in. Then you understand why they are 12VDC.

Just don't use the Triton with the charger hooked to the battery. ESPECIALLY if you are charging lithiums. BAD combination!

When i got my new triton back from hobby services it had a little colored circle sticker on the bottom.. Green I think. This was merely weeks ago.

As for the power supply - I bought a 14amp Hobby powersupply from my LHS for 99.99.. it can output 14 amps on 2x 12v 'Rails.' It has been working great. You might want to try looking for something like this at your LHS.

you will want to keep a few banana clips around to make up leads as you need them, you can buy leads with the proper connestors at your lhs but it's cheaper to get the ends and solder them up yourself. Also, go get a hobby power supply, as was suggested by someone else, I have a dynimite power supply and it works flawlessly on all types of batteries.

Help me out guys, I'm confused.

Are you saying that the Triton,
WILL NOT fully charge if it's hooked up to an auto battery?
Especially if your're charging Li-Polys?

Mine is an updated, with green sticker on the bottom.
