was wondering if this is possible. my reasoning being a larger blade would improve tail rotor performance. has any one else tried this?
i had a set of R60`s laying around and installed them, but have yet an opportunity to try it out

no you cant unfortunatley, the r60 blades are 95mm, this is too long for the r50. the longest blades i would recommend on a r50 is 92mm

I've used NHP 95mm on my Rap50 without any problems. I've read that some people have had blade-blade contact so I decided to cut them back to 92mm - not worth the risk.

when you fly hard 3d, your blades flex, when your blades flex they bend towards the tailblades, if you use 95mm tailblades while flying hard 3d you will chop your tail blades off. seen it happen.

95mm tail blades are fine for hovering and circles and mild 3d, but not for hard 3d.

Or buy some 85-90mm carbon blades. They generally have a wider chord than the plastic, so there is more power without the extra length. They are also very stiff too, so they don't flex like the plastic ones. I use the NHP 85mm on my R50 and they work very well.
