How do you guy charge your li-po batterys

1 WHAT CHARGER DO YOU USE schulze

2 WHERE DO YOU CHARGE THEM indoors garage outside in garden

3 DO YOU USE A FIRE PROOF BOX WITH SAND AVAILABLE

With the li-po batterys and all i have read about the safety of these very dangerous explosive cells i was just wondering what precautions everyone takes and if anyone has any rules of thumb that they work by

I use an Astroflight 109 lithium charger. Works very well. I charge my packs in a wooden case I made with tile linings for fir proofing. Then i put my whole setup into my fire place. If its gonna catch fire, thats gotta be the best place to happen.

These cells dont actually explode like lithium ions do. They just catch fire.

If you try lipoly you will likely change your mind. You just got to be responsible with them.

Helifool,

What Lipo battery am I looking for with the Kontronik setup and 14 theeth pinion?
I like to fly the little thing soft in front of my house.

So I want duration but no 3D performance.
I'll go for 3s.

As it goes for parallel, 2p,3p (2000ma cells)?
3p will give more capacity, but will add weight and therfore will draw more current to be flown. It will also be more expensive.
I thought 3s2p would be a great deal.

What flight time may I expect with 3s2p?3s3p?

Which battery setup do you finally recommand?

Also, which battery brand to get and where to buy them and have them ship inside Europe?

Other's answers welcome too of course.

Thanks.

Comet,

If you purely duration flying I would go for 3s4p. That can give you over 30 mins of pretty nice flying. This setup is a heavy lipo setup but it blows away all the nicad/nimh setups. It is pretty darn good really.

However, I would reccomend you go with the 3s3p. I went with the 3s4p and realized that 30 mins was actually almost too much at once. 3s3p should give around 20 mins.

I wouldn't get the 3s2p if your not looking for 3d but only duration. Im gonna switch my setup to a high voltage 6s tanic setup. Im gonna have two packs which should give about 15 mins of cruising each.

Ya...

I'm looking for a European dealer carrying the TP packs
No need to fly those LIPO over the Atlantic....

I think some Brit shop have them
I'll enquire more deeply when I'm on the verge of getting my 3s2p

Thanks anyway
