Hey guys, I have a buddy wanting to buy my Camera ship and I would like to upgrade. I am tired of the nitro/oil residue. What are the recomendations for a new machine? What gasser do you have, how messy is it, and how is vibration?

Thanks a lot!

Don't reccomend electric, ya couldn't sell me one if it was the last heli on earth!

I would take a REALLY REALLY take serious look at the new Predator Gasser from Century..

I had the pleasure of checking one out at a recent show, and I must say its SWEEET. Many, many upgrades come standard as well.

I am thinking of picking one up soon, specifically for camera work.

Cheers!

Maybe the Predator is good but I'd go with a time tested design.

X-cell or Bergen. Easy to get a second used one for backup too.

You have to understand that every person will tell you that what they own is the best to have!

Good luck trying to find a winner here!

I say the current generation gas copters are fine. Either go with what your local hobby shop supports so you can get parts without having to resort to mail order, or go with the features which you like.

Be careful reading old reviews. Most machines have been updated over time.

I have read many reviews of the X-Cell gasser and found them to be woefully wrong and out of date (I fly an X-Cell).

I've had mine since '96 and have updated most parts of it to current specs.

You can order one from MinAir or get their new gasser which is about to be released if you want the latest.

I am flying the Briggs and Straton 6.5 HP Intek 4-Blade. Runnin 1200mm Carbon-graphite-fiber-birch blades. It is from the BucketCam series manufactured by Rice Helicam. Joel says it will do full video at 45 mph... ...vertical.

You will be able to view this chopper on Discovery's new show "Monster Helicam". Some of the others ships will be Ethan's new electric... ...the "Generac 5000 Bi-fuel" and Joe's in-line four-banger "Quasi-Chop".

All the above ships are outfitted with the innovative Sony BMC-110 Betamovie Camcorder. The first segment of the show will highlight the drag races at Brainard International Raceway (BIR), the great Twin Cities MTC Bus Strike, and the National Hooters Convention held in Annandale, MN.

Remember, don't sneeze when you are trying to land!

You forgot to mention you have a dual carb on that Briggs.
I guess the cats out of the bag. I better post my new bucket cam
now, is the world ready for it?
I still don't know how Ethan can use a Diehard in his electric heli
Must be the blades.

It's all in the dual-quad reduction gearing and pneumatic poppet valves on the pitch curve impeller induction controller

Funny, that's exactly what I was thinking when you said you actually wanted a gasser!

I don't doubt an electrics ability. It what it's lacking that I don't like.

A fuel tank recharges a lot faster than a battery does!

I can swap out battery packs a lot faster than you can fill your fuel tank!

Just messing with you for your obnoxious comment about electrics...

I believe Ethan can go for 6 weeks, flying 3 hours a day, 7 days a week without a charge. Right? Joe's Quasi-Chop has an alternator/generator that charges his Rx packs. He needs that because the strobes and fire bucket use a lot of jucie.

By the way, when I am not flying the Briggs, I fly a X-Cell Gasser. I will be looking into the Bergen's soon. I believe these are the only two American made gassers?

Maybe that's because everyone is changing over to the big electrics! Keep an open mind!
