First, had a problem with the tail not holding on my heli. Whenever doing tic tocs the tail would start to drift out and not come back. When I went into inverted backwards flight, all was fine untill I would crank it up and pour on the speed. I'd get close to max speed and the tail would kick 180 degrees. Turned out I wasn't getting enough throw on my tail servo and was not getting the last 4 degrees of pitch off the tail. Now that's fixed and I have another problem.

I rebuilt the rotor head last night, gotta love how fast plastic wears lol. Anyhow, the rebuild went fine, used moly grease on the dampners and the spindle. Went out this morning to check it, blade tracking was off...I didn't set it yet because another problem developed....the tail is now hunting. Is it possible for the tail to hunt if the blade tracking is off? I am going to set the tracking tonight when I get home, just wanted to see if anyone would know if it would make the tail hunt.

Btw, I know I can turn down my gyro gain to clean it up, but I should not have to do that. Doing so would only be throwing a blanket over the problem. Anyhow, any advice would be helpfull.

If your tracking is out then you will lose headspeed so won't have the same tail authority. I'd sort the tracking out then check the tail again.

Gonna get the tracking fixed when I get home tonight. But I wasn't lacking tail authority, it's minute tail wagging, very slight in a hover, gets worse in FFF.

If the problem is not gyro gain, then you should look for binding in your tail control path. Any sticking or binding will cause just the symptoms you describe.
